St. Patrick’s Day Weekend North Market Style

St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He arrived in Ireland in 432 AD to convert the Irish to Christianity.

St. Patrick has a long and storied history, and you can read all about it on various sources on the internet. Let’s be honest though…you know that most people use it as an excuse to party. It is an even bigger celebration when the actual St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Sunday.

Short North and North Market regions of downtown Columbus started the festivities Friday, March 15 and will continue on through the weekend.

We were downtown on March 16 and the partying was in full swing.

People take the occasion to also dress in green and extravagant outfits.

Some even joined official “pub crawls” going from bar to bar with their friends.
