I remember seeing this before, on our way to some other destination. It’s rather hard to miss, a giant airplane sitting in a field next tot the road.
On the way to Smeck Park, I crossed paths with this VFW again and decided to document the plane.
It is a beautiful aircraft, history for it marked by 2 placards. The placards for the aircraft and the crew history that this plane is dedicated.
Ever since my first trip to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the fascination to photograph them is hard to resist!
Not only are they beautiful to look at, but they are also a wonder of engineering and history.
If you are heading out east from Columbus, this is an easy stop. Luck was with us that day, as the timing was great for some fun, directional light.
Enjoy the images, but use them as inspiration to visit here, see the plane, learn the history and give thanks to the veterans that flew this and other planes like it.
