Background

A staple of the Arnold Sports Festival and an annual event VisualOhio covers is back again with the classic grudge match between the police and fire departments going head to head in the pugilistic arts!

2024 came with a venue change. In 2023, the Guns and Hoses boxing event was held at the the Hollywood Casino. This year, the Columbus Athenaeum was the host!

Bonus note: Just a short 1/2 block walk is a very convenient parking garage at 4th and Elm.

Impression

Guns and Hoses never dissappoint! 2024 was no different. With a few exceptions the matches were pretty even in the skills of the fighters.

Dan Whalen – a staple of the Guns and Hoses events fought his last bout and ended it in style! Such a heavy handed puncher, he won his match with distinction.
